First up we have some FABULOUS twisted bargellos that have been completed since Tony Munoz gave his class for us on March 1.  From left to right, here are Gwynette Thacker, Rheba Ford and Stella Day with their beautiful quilts:

Next is Barb Hancock with a beautiful tote bag and two cute baby quilts for donation:

 

Karen Ashely has made a wonderful monogrammed tote bag to go on a walker (what a great idea!):

Look at this adorable basket of lace embroidery Easter eggs that Judy Schoeny has made!

Liz Ewing has been sewing up a storm on quilts for donation lately.  Here she is with three quilts made from the "French Quarter" pattern that she will donate, as well as with her beautiful new "house quilt" that she has designed and made for herself:

 

Margie Langanke brought along a wonderful log cabin quilt that she has just finished for her son, as well as a beautiful antique quilt that she bought as a top and had hand-quilted:

 

Finally, here is Loneta Blevins with a wonderful Quilt of Valor that she started at our March work day (left photo) and another fabulous Quilt of Valor made by Liz Ewing (right photo):

First up are two beautiful twisted bargello quilts by Helen Hefner:

Next is Anita Johnson with a wonderful pinwheel quilt she has made for her niece, as well as a Dresden Plate quilt she made with blocks that she inherited:

 

Alice Scott has been busy making this awesome bright baby quilt for donation and this Dresden Plate Christmas table runner:

 

Stella Day brought two fabulous quilts to show.  The first is a beautiful Buckeye Beauty and the second is a round robin quilt made by members of the Dogwood Guild in Siloam Springs.  Stella's block is the center one:

 

Dorothy Day brought this wonderful Double Wedding Ring quilt that she hand-quilted during the snowstorms.  The top was a donation to Helping Hands:

Linda Hancock welcomed new grandson William Ross in February and she made this adorable Humpty Dumpty quilt for him:

 

Finally, Anita Young wowed us with her beautiful Serendipity quilt top that she completed from a class given by our own Barbara Engler:

Way to go, Diana Springer!

Look what Diana Springer has sent in to share with us!  Her beautiful twisted bargello quilt top that she made from Tony Munoz's class (which was only 17 days ago)!  Congratulations, Diana!  It's wonderful!

Show and Tell from January 18, 2010

Well, our first meeting of the new year brought lots of wonderful show and tell items for us to enjoy.  Here's a look back at what our busy members have been up to lately...  (Remember to click on any image to enlarge it.)

Dorothy Day has completed this adorable baby quilt for donation to the Children's Advocacy Center:

Sandi Bernal brought this wonderful autumn-colored chain quilt that she made that was recently quilted by our own Marilyn Gore.  The second photo is an attempt to show the fabulous quilting of horse motifs in the center squares:

Next up is Pearl Schliep with a wonderful blue and white dove wall hanging that she made from a class she attended recently:

Helen Hefner wowed us with two beauties this time -- the first an adorable small "Let it Snow" quilt and the second a FANTASTIC king-size Mexican Star quilt:

 

Linda Lundquist has just finished this great polka-dot quilt which is the 6th one finished out of the 9 she intends to make for her grandchildren:

Here is Stella Day with a Quilt of Valor for donation.  Each block contains a written message to the soldiers.  Stella has also finished this wonderful black and white quilt made from fabrics from a fabric exchange.

  

Marilyn Gore brought this fabulous red and white drunkard's path quilt:

 

And Alice Scott gets a gold star for finishing this wonderful dresden plate table runner that she started in the class given by Carole Steitz at PNP recently:

Looking through my photos tonight I have found a selection of Show and Tell photos that have yet to be published on the blog, so here they are for your viewing pleasure... :-)

At our Christmas potluck luncheon we also had the next three beautiful things brought for Show and Tell:

First is Carol McCutcheon with another fabulous Christmas quilt for one of her grandchildren (I believe this is number 3 of 7 Christmas quilts she intends to make for them):

Then Loneta Blevins showed us her wonderful log cabin quilt that will be a Quilt of Valor donation:

 

And finally, Judy Schoeny wowed us with her cute wool Santa Claus:

 

I believe the posting of these pictures gets us all caught up on Show and Tell photos, and I bet I'm not alone in looking so forward to our meeting on Monday, January 18, to see what everyone has been up to over our long holiday break!

Show and Tell From November 2

Oh boy, did we ever have great Show and Tell at our last meeting!  Here's a peek at what some of our members have completed recently.  The talent is overwhelming!

First up is Judy Schoeny with three wonderful items.  The first is a lovely Wedding Ring table runner, the second is a marvelous machine-embroidered piece (it took 28 MACHINE HOURS to stitch!) and the third is a great bag she has made from a pattern called "Sunday Satchel."

 

Next up is Loneta Blevins with her "Weaver Fever" quilt.

 

Sandi Bernal brought some of her Aunt Betty Howard's latest creations to share with us.  There were three adorable baby/children's quilts and thee beautiful Quilts of Valor with pillowcases for donation.

 

Linda Hancock has made a beautiful watercolor Irish Chain quilt that was given as a class at Sager Creek Quilt Shop.

 

Carol Wahl's been busy, too.  She has finished a wonderful wedding quilt for her son and daughter-in-law, a great Christmas quilt that started as a block exchange, and a lovely "Merry Christmas" redwork wall hanging.

 

Next we have several wonderful things to admire that Carol McCutcheon has recently finished.  First is a beautiful Christmas quilt that is #2 of 7 that she is making for her grandchildren.  Then there are two adorable wall hangings that used the handprints of some of her grandkids to make the designs, and finally, there are two doll quilts for her neighbor's children.

 

Here is Rheba Ford with a fantastic Quilt of Valor for donation.

 

And finally, here are three baby quilts that have been made for donation by Dorothy Day, Ann Brown and Stella Day, respectively.

Photos from PNP Meeting - October 19, 2009

Member Grace Grame shared some more of her vast quilting talents with Pieces 'N Patches at the last meeting when she led a workshop on drafting quilt blocks with graph paper/rulers.  Here she is in her darling Halloween shirt.

 

Show and tell included (from left to right) Barbara Engler with her wonderful Serendipity quilt, Michael Dailey with a great holiday wool treasure, Sandi Bernal hiding behind a beautiful chain-type quilt, and finally, Rosie Davis with two gorgeous quilts.

Dorothy Day rescued this Irish chain beauty from the Helping Hands thrift store where she volunteers in Bella Vista.

Here's Karen Buck with her wonderful quilt called "September Stars."

Next up is Marily Teeter with two cute quilts she has made for her granddaughters.

And here is Michael Dailey with her wonderful "If the Hat Fits" quilt (pattern by Buggy Barn).

Finally, here is Anita Young with her festive Halloween wall hanging and her Jo Morton "Holiday Inn" quilt.

Show and Tell From September 21, 2009

Well, after having a meeting off for Labor Day, we returned to have tons of beautiful show and tell.  Enjoy the photos below and remember to click any image to enlarge it.

First up is Stella Day, who must have been super busy since last we met!  The first two photos are of Quilts of Valor that she has generously quilted on her long arm machine.  Unfortunately, I don't know who pieced the actual tops.  The third picture is of a beautiful Quilt of Valor that Stella both pieced and quilted herself.

 

The next four photos show more quilts that Stella Day has made for donation.  The one in the first photo was made from a panel she got from our free table and the one in the second photo was made from fabric given to her by Bonnie Simms.  All four of them are completely adorable!

 

Here's a wonderful child's quilt for donation pieced and tied by our fearless leader, Marguerite Steiner.  She even made a matching pillowcase for it!

 

If you have been around Liz Ewing while she's been sewing lately, you've undoubtedly seen her making the sawtooth stars for this beautiful quilt on the left.  It's called "Midnight Garden" and it has 176 sawtooth stars in it!  On the right is her completed Halloween quilt made from the Buggy Barn pattern called "If the Hat Fits."

Another one of us that must have been sewing non-stop lately is Marilyn Gore.  She reported that she recently got the bug to finish up a bunch of WIP's (works in progress), and boy, did she ever!  Feast your eyes on all this eye candy!

Grace Grame has accomplished a lot lately, too.  The bright churn dash quilt in the third picture just won a blue ribbon at the Benton County Fair!

Carole Steitz brought a beautiful quilt she recently made from Alicia Gentry's pattern called "French Twist".

 

Here's Dorothy Day with a wonderful Christmas table runner she's made, as well as three great quilts she's made for donation.

Here are Pam Goggans (left) and Donna Thomas (right) showing a wonderful Quilt of Valor block and quilt pattern that Donna has written for a new book she has in the works.  There will be two sewing gatherings in November at Sager Creek Quilt Shop in Siloam Springs to make blocks for this quilt while testing Donna's pattern at the same time.

Karen Ashley wowed us with her beautiful creations next.  Her jacket won runner-up to the Best of Show at the Benton County Fair, and her purse and two wall quilts won ribbons, too!

 

Finally, look at this great Quilt of Valor quilt top that Betty Workman has just completed!  (And all the fabric was from her stash!)

 

Thanks so much to all the ladies who brought items for show and tell.  It's a highlight of every meeting to see what everyone's been up to.  :-)

Double, double toil and trouble...

Look what Liz Ewing and I have been up to! 

One day recently in The Rabbit's Lair, Liz and I were looking at books when we saw the Buggy Barn book called "Frightfully Crazy," and I said, "I have that book and all the fabric bought to make that witch quilt."  Liz said, "Hey, I have that book and I want to make that quilt, too!"  So the motivation to actually make the quilt was finally achieved for both of us.  (The name of the pattern within the book is called "If the Hat Fits".)

Liz's is the bright one on the left (all quilted and EVERYTHING!) and mine is the top on the right.

 

So what have YOU been up to?  We'd love to see any of your works in progress or recent finishes or anything else you'd like to share.  All you need to do is email me your pictures and any information you would like me to include and I'll post them here on the blog.
